Napoli Province
Known as Napoli to the locals (otherwise Naples), this
province is one of the most often visited in Italy,
in no small part because of the magnificence of the
city and its famous bay that made it a commercial powerhouse
during the Renaissance.
However, there’s more to the Province of Napoli than
the city and its suburbs.
Of the roughly 3 million people who call the province
home, over well over two thirds of them live in the
small towns that dot the surrounding countryside, many
of them found along the seaside.
Naples is full of art galleries and is a tribute to
the most fabulous period of its past, when it was one
of the capitals of European trading along the Mediterranean.
Though subjected to a crush of tourists during the summer
months, the city becomes like any other European capital
during the off-season.
The province is also home to some of Italy’s most famous
distilleries and quite a few lemon groves.
