Rapallo
Rapallo is one of the most important summer vacation resort towns in the Tigullio
Gulf, on the Ligurian Riviera.
It is an ancient town, dating to prehistoric times, as attested to by numerous
archeological discoveries. Rapallo has something for every tourist.
There is an ancient historical center, which has been renovated, a more modern
area of town, with nightspots and various luxury boutiques, fertile hills with
breathtaking views, and a vibrant port characterized by a good amount of boat
traffic.
Indeed, Rapallo, like many Ligurian towns, is attractive for the fact that
tourists can enjoy both a variety of land-based activities, while at the same
time being in close contact with the sea.
Because of the large influx of tourists that visit Rapallo each year, the town
is very well equipped in terms of accommodations and entertainment.
Whatever your tastes, simply walking around Rapallo is enjoyable, and while
exploring its streets and history, you should stop in to one of the local artisan
shops. Here you'll be able to observe craftsman working lace, an activity that
has made the area world famous.
